Today we are going to The Good Earth Farm, this patch of paradise is located outside of Lennox, SD. At The Good Earth they use sustainable practices to grow vegetables. These vegetables are sold through a Consumer Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Each week during peak growing season those subscribed receive a share of the harvest. Using organic practices Nancy and Jeff have cultivated a dedicated customer base.
The Barn
While produce is one of the many pieces of the puzzle at The Good Earth Farm they also are home to a beautiful restored Barn for events. Originally built in the 1890s the barn consists of a charming hay loft set up for weddings and family gatherings, parlor set up with bar and tables, and large deck overlooking the scenic South Dakota prairie.
The Animals
at The Good Earth Farm are its residents, from large to small they have it all! Buck and Sydney greet all with wagging tails, while t-bone the cow supervises from his pasture. They are also home to two pigs, Charlie and Harold, but it doesn’t stop there. They have chickens, two donkeys and a pony.
Internships
The Good Earth Farm offers an internship program. They are proud to be able to educate those who are eager to learn about CSA and all they have to offer.
