The 2ndAnnual Local Foods Fair will take place at the Stockyards Ag Experience on July 31, 2019 from 3 PM to 8 PM. Local businesses and organizations will be selling goods, sharing resources and giving out samples during this family-friendly, outdoor event.
“We know that consumers have lots of choices when it comes to their food. The Local Foods Fair is a chance for consumers to meet some of their local producers face-to-face and learn about their operations,” said Abby Bischoff, Executive Director of the Stockyards Ag Experience. “We seek to connect people with agriculture and meeting a farmer is the most direct way we can do that!”
In addition to local producers and information tables, the event will also have beer and wine samples, live music from Humbletown, live chef demos from Chef Nicholas Skajewski and Chef Ellen Doerr, food trucks and kids’ activities.
The Local Foods Fair is free and open to the public. Parking is available across the street from the Stockyards Ag Experience barn in the Falls Park Farmer’s Market. For full event details, please visit our event on Facebook.
The Local Foods Fair is sponsored by Midco, Pomegranate Market and The Natural Foods Coop. The event is organized by the Stockyards Ag Experience, Dakota Fresh Food Hub, South Dakota Specialty Producers Association, and Northern Plains Sustainable Ag.
